This look was popular in the 60's. The model Twiggie sported a very short haircut called the Sassoon. It was shorter. My mom cut my long hair to this pixie cut. I was called Peter Pan in grade school and the kids made fun of me . I've hated it every since then. It wasn't suitable for me.

I have always had fine hair that has become less dense in my 30s. My crown is thinning the most, so I like to have a fringe that does down to my brows and layers in the back to help with my cowlick that looks so unappealing. Every hair dresser is afraid to leave length on my hair and give me layers because they say my hair will end up looking too thin. It drives me nuts, so I stopped paying to get my hair done, and have just let it grow. As a result it has been dry and lifeless for a while now. Today, I thought it was finally time to just try and do this haircut after knowing about it for a while. The sections were difficult to do on my own and I will definitely ask for help next time on that part. I think I went too wide in the front with my bangs. And my hair is pretty long, the longest part is a little past my mid back, so it was difficult to cut the back at full length up like that and I had to pinch the hair with my fingers and bring it to the front to actually be able to cut it. I know I didn't get everything perfectly even and it is still to be judged by my hairdresser friend and anyone else in person. But I am happy with it, and that's what matters most. It feels wonderful and moves beautifully. This is how my hair will be cut for now on until I'm ready to go short. So I think it will get easier and better each time I do it. For the first time since I can remember, I am happy about my hair and excited for it's future. Thank you, Paul Watts, this has really helped my confidence.
